CARD SETTLEMENT FAILURE & UNAUTHORIZED TRANSFER

I settled my credit card account with BROOKS AND LUYT on 3 November 2011 - I paid the amount as per the settlement letter given, and send proof of payment and letter back to them, requesting a nil balance statement, paid up letter and for them to update my ITC record. To date I have received nothing. I was unemployed at the time, so settling my account was difficult financially, but I did it.

Today there is a transfer out of my account of R728.48, on 8 February (3 months later?). I phoned Standard Bank tonight and the consultant tells me this is for my credit card? I am livid, how on earth is this possible that you take money from me randomly after I have settled the said account months ago? How do you manage the settlements with Brooks and Luyt?

Who gives you the right to take my money when I have settled my account according to what your service provider stated at the time. Why give a settlement offer letter if this is what happens? I expect a follow up and an investigation and I want my money back. I have the settlement letter and proof of payment done on November. This is absolutely shocking. Please call me urgently. Thanks to you I am now in trouble financially.
