Wrong Debit order date

On Monday the 4th Feb 2013 I called Home loans to change my debit order date from the 5th to the 25th for budget control reasons. I spoke to a very helpful Mongezi Nkasane who was eager to help and did so very well. Everything went smoothly and he told me that it has been successfully changed.

Just to make sure I asked him to send me an confirmation email to make sure as I never want to miss a payment. He did so very quickly and I was happy. Now that my debit order date has changed I restructured my budget for the month to my delight.

This morning the 6th of Feb 2013 I received a notification that the debit order has indeed been deducted and now I am in an uncomfortable financial position. I now have to get along with far too little of a budget for another 16 days before I get income again.

I feel that Standard Bank should immediately do a reversal as it was completely their fault and in the end I was being misled (even if it was accidental). I have financial commitments I have to live up to and because of Standard Bank I am unable to do so.
