2nd hand smart device supplied

I received a smart device (Iphone) through FNB, it stopped working and I took it to the Istore for repairs as it was under warranty. The told me they cannot work on the phone because it is a rebuilt phone registered in the UK with the serial number in the sim tray not corresponding to the the serial number of the phone. When I received the phone I got a separate charger with it which was some Japanese make and not an original. I contacted FNB regarding this and a consultant told me there were some "grey phones" that came through. Why were these phones not recalled and replaced? FNB then after a big fight collected my phone and sent it to their repair centre. 2 weeks later the repair center contacts me and make the same statement as the Istore, the cannot work on the phone because the serial numbers do not correspond. After months and no resolution to the issue from FNB I have decided to make write this complaint, I need answers from somebody with authority and not some consultant who cannot help me or are unwilling to put me in contact with their manager.
