Smart device order chaos

I recently ordered a smart device as a gift for my wife's birthday through my online banking. After receiving no correspondence and posting a complaint on hellopeter I finally got an e-mail saying I need to arrange delivery of my smart device. I tried doing so...

I was told they need to check stock first... after 4 days they finally figured out they don't have stock of the product and they can't say when the supplier will have stock again. It might be weeks... but not months according to them. This is unacceptable... now after I've ordered I need to wait months... and that for a birthday gift. Is there any way I can order another product please? And how would I know if these people have stock? Or should I guess... and wait weeks again?

In the meantime my wife had a birthday without a present from her husband... because of bad service. Please sort out this mess, it's not my responsibility to make sure there is communication between FNB, the courier company and their suppliers. What happened to the 48 hour delivery thing a year back?
