Queries regarding SURPLUS at MIBFA are totally unsatisfactory, when a member calls the Call Centre to inquire whether or not they qualify for the SURPLUS you get different feedback from different Call Centre Consultants, some of which are extremely rude and unhelpful. Applications that i submitted for my father and my boyfriend more than eight months ago still have no feedback regarding their claims. My father (a pensioner), his hearing really bad and the only time you will get any assistance is if you do a power of attorney which then the originals must get submitted and after 3 month's they tell you they have not yet received them. My boyfriend applied for a statement 7 month's ago and every month when we call they tell him there is still not one available. In today's times how is it possible that it takes longer than 7 month's to calculate a surplus??? On Wednesday 29th January 2014, i was with my father and tried to get in touch with the call centre whilst he was with me, i called mote than twenty times, and most of those times i waited approximately 15 minutes each time before i got through to a consultant, then was cut off. HOW DOES ONE GET ANY ASSISTANCE - PLEASE HELP
