Transaction approved without PIN entered

I made a purchase at Checkers Hyper on Sunday, gave my Gold Check Card (Chip and Pin card), they swiped it, and returned it to me before I could enter my PIN, seconds later I get the SMS that the money has been deducted from my account. I asked to see a supervisor, she asks me if it is FNB card, as they get quite a few FNB cards that do this.

I logged a complaint with FNB (Reference number 250799), website states they would respond within 24 hrs, still nothing, I went to the President Square branch on Monday, spoke to the Branch Manager and she tells me it has happened to her too with a purchase from Woolworths, and she is not sure if it is a problem on the vendor equipment or the new CHIP cards...

I informed her that I was not happy about the fact that my money can be deducted from my account without my PIN, she tells me not to worry and I should keep an eye on my account, I inform her that I want to log a complaint, I am told they do not have any place to do that sort of thing, only if I dispute a transaction... I mean really, is that the way we have to entrust our money to you, I SWITCHED to FNB thinking that my money would be safe, now I am not so sure.
