When presenting my chip enabled credit card for payment the cashier was unable to use the chip reader and had to swipe the card. Since this makes the whole purpose of chip enabled credit cards useless I took it up with the management of the store who adviced me that it happens now and then. If ABSA (who I was told is the supplier of the card readers) is not able to provide proper equipment then surely Checkers can change their service provider?
