About two months ago, I opened a chq account at standardbank springs. The first month my salary was paid into my account, i could not do any transactions on my account. I went to the springs branch and reported it to them. They "fixed" my account so that i can use my money. I asked them if this will happen again, because i have debit orders going off on the first of every month and i have accounts to pay. They replied, NO THIS WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR DEBIT ORDERS, if this should happen again. This is now the second month and guess what?? I can still do no transactions on my account and my DEBIT ORDERS CAME BACK RETURNED!!! the day I opened the account nothing was said that i can only use my money after the 7th day, if they told me this, then I WOULDNT HAVE OPENED A ACCOUNT WITH STANDARD BANK!!! I would have stayed with ABSA Bank. Who will now be responsible for my debit orders being returned?? because i was assured that my debit orders will go through. I will get a bad name at the credit beurau and not Standardbank. I WILL NOW HOLD THEM RESPONSIBLE TO PAY MY DEBIT ORDERS, BECAUSE THERE WAS SUFFICIENT MONEY IN MY ACCOUNT FOR MY DEBIT ORDERS!!!
