At 09h00 on the 30/01/14 I made use of a Standard Bank ATM (BP Fairland - ATM D622) to make a cash withdrawal of R1, 000 (I am not a Standard Bank Account holder) The transaction was processed, the amount reflects as a debit on my account, however the cash was never dispensed. I immediately logged the query with my bank who informed me that it would take 6 days for the money to reflect as a credit in my account again. When querying the turn around time with Standard Bank, the consultant transferred the blame to my bank and insisted that the monies "never left my account". I find it absolutely unacceptable that there is a 6 day turnaround time for a bank to return money that actually belongs to me! As far as I am concerned, that is daylight! Absolutely disgusting that ATM's can process transactions without dispensing the cash!
