My credit record damaged

Good day,

I had a personal loan with ABSA which I paid off in June 2013, to date they haven't notified Experian or Transunion that the account is settled, instead they have been sending updates that I still owe them. I contacted Experian last week around the 15th and they advised me that ABSA sent them an update on 31 December 2013 that I still owe them around R2400, and haven't been paying my account for the past 6 months or so. I sent numerious emails to ABSA, I even called them quite a few times but no one seems to care enough about my situation, only received a letter but the process wasn't completed.

This really damaged my record with the ITC as I'm now unable to get credit anywhere because ABSA failed to send the correct updates to the ITC, my life is on hold but I settled the loan over 6 months ago. What I need right now is for ABSA to ensure that the update is backdated to the date this account was settled so that I can be able to apply for credit, it's unfair that I'm told that there is an account I haven't been paying for the past 6 months meanwhile the account is settled. I'd really be grateful if HelloPeter help me out as I'm helpless.
