I applied for a loan back in 2007 and lost my job shortly after. An ABSA consultant contacted me due to none payment but I explained that I do not have a job anymore.
I got an impression that they had settled my account as they never again contacted me (6 yrs) regarding payment. I tried applying for credit yesterday 2013/08/13 and to my surprise was told that I have an outstanding payment with ABSA R14, 000.00. I requested for a credit report with Transunion, Experian and XDS 2013-08-07 and all reflect that there is no default against my name R0.00 balances for all meaning that my ITC is clear. I went to ABSA to enquire about the outstanding balance and was advised by the consultant that I have to start making payment of which I refused because for the past 6 years no one communicated with me regarding this. I need someone from ABSA bank to contact me and explain what was happening between 2007 and now. I am still waiting for a call no one has gotten back to me. This is totally absurd.
