I have 3 loan accounts with FNB that has been handed over for collection. So FNB do not attempt to take any money off my account while in arrears but once I am handed over to attorneys for collection and make arrangements they deduct nearly R7000 (one shot) off my account. Being a single mom, only breadwinner in the house, was unemplyed from May to Sept last year (which I mentioned to the attorneys when making this arrangement and FNB do not give a. I have not paid school fees, bought food, or even paid insurance on my car and they just take the money - no call, no letter, no warning nothing and then I am told they allowed to do that. So much for how can we help you. After all this time why now? Yes I do owe this money and yes arrangements have been made to pay it off, but is this how a FNB customer gets treated? with 3 loans with her own bank. And who gave me the 3 loans if the others were not settled yet - is that responsible lending? Surely this is not legal - how do you deduct money off an account after an arrangement has been made? Talk about pathetic! I am not denying that I owe this money hence the payment arrangement. I could have just changed banks if I was sneaky!!
