After recieving a very misleading text about having pre qualified for a loan I contacted the call centre and was asked for my banking details and a lot of other supposedly recorded questions. After this I was informed by text message that I had been approved and I should phone the call centre again. I called the call centre again and was told that I had been approved as a client and that I needed to pay R350 for them to find me a loan and also for paralegal services, I told them that I was not interested and that I had been misled by the text sent. At the end of January they deducted R350 from my bank account and when I contacted them today I was told that I did not opt out and therefore the charge of R350 was taken, I was then told that there is a cancellation fee of R150 which may be charged. These people are making a fortune by misleading people and the Financial Services Ombudsman needs to take them to task, which is my next point of action.
