Please be warned: it is impossible to close a Virgin Money Card Account even if you have a positive balance.
Please don't make the same mistake I made!
I asked for my account to be closed on 11 October 2013 and was not contacted until 22 October 2013 (after I logged a complaint on HelloPeter.) Eventually I was contacted and was told my account would be closed. I have kept receiving statement since then though.
On 31 December 2013 I complained again that I was still receiving statements and told that I was successfully removed from the mailing list. On 25 January 2014 I received another statement. Hence I am logging another complaint on HelloPeter and I am taking the issue to the banking ombudsman for their repeated failure to close my account completely.
