I took out a homeloan with Standard bank and after waiting 4 months, the papers are finally at the lawyers ready to sign for registration. Only now do I notice that STD bank placed a retention fee of R60 000 that I did not ask for and was not aware of. If I hadnt seen it, I would never have known! Now I'll probably lose my house because I cannot afford to pay that difference cash to the seller. My lawyers have requested that this retention be dropped but with the way STD bank have been treating me, I suppose I should not get my hopes up! Not only have you wasted my time and money but you really messed up my future plans with your lack of communication!
