I went to Nedbank on Friday to do an urgent transaction only to be told my debit card had been stopped due to it being inactive. Anyway, after 1 hour it was reactivated, so I did my transaction. Next day they charged me R153. I saw this, this morning. On phoning 5 times, with NO success, I drove to Nedbank and called Service Dept and was told this fee is the annual service fee! Why I asked.. The lady couldn't tell me. My question, if, by Nedbanks admission, my card had been inactive for a long period of time why was I charged R153 for them to do nothing. Why so much and why annually. Nedbank I'm of the opinion you are ripping your customers off.
