I am assisting my domestic worker to make a claim was made on a funeral plan. The claim takes 48 hours to process which is understandable. It would be nice to be faster because the expenses are incurred immediately but we can manage that. However, because the beneficiary is not with FNB it will take another 48 hours to clear. When asked if they can do a "quick clear" the payment, we were told it is not possible. This is unacceptable.

If I make an EFT from my FNB account, I can clear it immediately and the money is transferred. FNB funerals say this is not possible. When I questioned them on it, the response of the agent said: "You should have an FNB account". This is infuriating because not only does the family have to deal with the death of a loved one but they have to deal with uncaring and unhelpful people.

FNB's slogan is "How can we help you." The reality is that when the chips are down, they actually don't care to help at all. It CAN be done, they just don't care to.
