This morning I did an EFT transfer from my Std Bank account to another Std Bank account and 5 hours later the funds have not cleared!! This is between account at the same bank! ridiculous in this day and age. I have done transfers to the same account many many times and the funds have been available immediately. I called the called the Prestige call center and they told that it takes 24 hours and there is nothing they can do about it as management and IT is aware. Now I am sure management is aware that other banks clear the funds immediately whats wrong with Std Bank? Other banks have a pay and clear now facility for payment to OTHER banks and yet Std Bank cannot clear funds between its own accounts.
Needless to say the funds were urgent and the bank let me down when I needed them most. Moving Forward, I think not!! Is this just a ploy to get customers back to queueing inside the banks so they can charge cash handling fees?
Std Bank seriously need to think about the little conveniences that other banks customers are enjoying which WILL cause them to lose customers!
