I noted on my interned profile that my cheque account does not reflect any more.
On contracting the Call centre (it is the ONLY number available) I was informed that the account was closed because it has not been used in 6 months.
I hold an access bond at Standard Bank. The cheque acc is utilised ONLY to enable access to the bond. To have an access bond, one MUST have a cheque account with std bank (their rule). So now they just close the account, without informing me. Access to the bond has just been cancelled!
The call centre cannot assist - I MUST speak to my business banker. He does not respond to any mail. The call centre cannot give me a direct number for him. The call centre (yes, I had to phone again) informed me today that they think he is on leave and do not know when he will be back. (he obviously does not know how to set an "out of office reply" or "referral to someone else")
Now, how do you solve this? Pathetic!!
