I went into Standard bank early last year to close all my accounts with Standard bank and the lady who I spoke to told me that it is done. In august I received and sms to pay my credit card so i phoned the bank and they said it was an error they will correct it the account is closed. i again went on my Internet banking at the start of this year to make sure the account is closed and that i do not have to worry about it. Then just to find my cheque account is over R2000 in arrears, i then phone the bank to find out what is happening and i spoke to Tshidiso, he assured me that they will rectify this by writing the bank charges back and it will be closed a week later. Two weeks after that i checked again to make sure it was done and found that it wasn't. I phoned the bank and spoke to Nomsa that told me they will not close the account as there was credit card debit orders that went off on the account. She advised me to go into the branch which I refuse to do cause I have done that 3 times already and every time they did not do what I asked of them. I find this very frustrating!
