CLOSED ACCOUNT ACCUMLATED BANK CHARGES TO R4200

I closed my Standard bank account over 2 years ago and have heard nothing from Standard Bank until SARS paid my tax return into the wrong bank account, I received an sms from Standard bank saying "Thank you for your payment" when I looked into it, I realised R2717.81 for my tax return had been debited off a negative account that has accumulated to over R4200 for bank charges and interest on bank charges for an account I thought was closed and an account that I haven't touched for over 2 years.

Standard bank tell me they can't refund the money even though I said I would arrange a payment plan to pay off the bank charges which is really unfair and they still can't help me!!!

This R2717.18 was budgeted to pay off some debt I owe for a funeral for my boyfriend who passed away just over a month ago and they not even been sympathetic about which is absolute!

I know they can refund the money so why won't they!!! It's not like they need it and a payment plan will or actually has been set up to start at the end of this month.

STANDARD BANK - definitely not moving anyone forward!
