I'm in the process of trading my car in. I was told by the dealership that a Trans Union report shows three accidents on my car's record. This is incorrect as the car had only been involved in two accidents since I bought it in 2010 (brand new). I called Trans Union and was told by a customer service person that they received the information from the manufacturer. I told him that it doesn't make sense as I had not supplied the manufacturer with any of my accident information. (The information on the report even includes quotes I had received for repairs). He asked me to hold on and a supervisor/manager took over the call and very rudely told me that they cannot give me any information when I asked who had supplied them with the info. The incorrect information severely impacts on the value of my car. I have only encountered ill informed rude people at Trans Union and have received no answers with my car's record still being incorrect. I would now be very weary of doing business with companies who subscribe to Trans Union. I have never subscribed to their service, nor have I given permission for my details to be given to third parties.
