During 2009 our Bond Account was restructured after we fell into arrears due to both my husband and myself being unemployed. Since then payments have been strictly met and despite
Interest Rate reductions over the past few years we have been able to pay
more than the minimum installment leading to an advance portion despite the
outstanding Bond amount still being over the registered Bond amount at that
stage. Due to a disability claim being paid in my favour during June 2013 we applied
for a Flexi Reserve Facility during July with the view to depositing an
amount of approximately R100000 which proceeds we wanted to use at a later
stage. After a lengthy delay we were informed that the Flexi Reserve Facility
had been declined as we are still in excess of the registered Bond
amount. Since then we are getting the one call after the other saying we are in
arrears with the payments since August and notwithstanding the fact that we received written confirmation from the Bank as to what our monthly instalment is and which has been met every single month. During our application for a Flexi Facility an ABSA official even informed us that we are
actually approx. R13000 in advance of the arran
