I was involved in an accident whereby my car was declared a write off, and the insurance will not pay because I have not taken the car for inspection. However the contract clearly states that I am only required to take the car in for inspection if I have taken out accident cover, which I have not. I only took out out total loss cover. Lee Anne was helping me with my claim and she clearly stated that I will only be covered if the car is a write off. The sales person who sold me the contract also clearly stated that everything is in order when we spoke for the second time on the phone. This is all on telephonic record. And I was not told about the impact this would have if I do not take the car in for inspection. There is absolutely no where in the contract where it states that if the car is a write off or a total loss I will not be covered because the car did not go in for inspection. It is contradictory to what the investigator has told me and what is being written in the contract.on top of all this my premiums continued to be debited, I spoke to George at auto and general about it and he completely forgot about it and had to be reminded. This is a very serious issue.
