The Audacity!!!

I was under the impression that when a debit date is specified that will be the day the money is deducted from the account, NOT with Standard Bank. My debits go off 25 of month, 13Dec, R1300 is taken from my account. Bear in mind that its more than 2 weeks away from my pay day, this is my only money for transport & just bcz I still have money in my account they decide to just take it. During my 1 hour phone call to their call centre I was TOLD "as its Dec, WE decided to take all clients debit orders off early". What if I didnt have money in my account? What then, Would I have been in arrears? NO, Standard Bank would have waited until there were funds before they promptly took their due. BUT just bcz I so happen to still have money in my acc THEY JUST DECIDE to take it. After been told by the consultant "no, you first have to set up your internet banking before I can access your account to assist you" My call is then transferred back & forth to people who duno what they doing & then to an extension where it just rang - NO ANSWER. What audacity!! I was told it would be reversed in 1 day, that was 4 days ago. I had to lend money to get to work!!! Makes me wonder why I still bank there
