It came to my attention that on 13 December 2013 an amount of R400 was transferred from my cheque account to ELECTRONIC TRF - CREDIT CARD 330013024283 DD 1023 (153044).
This transaction was however not authorised by me. I have a credit with the bank, but the card number reflected there is not mine. I therefore logged a message on the "secure message" service available on Internet banking (this message was logged on Saturday - which is when I became aware of the transaction).
Seeing as I had not heard from the bank I decided to call in and find out what the story is. General banking then transferred me to the credit card department who gave me some lousy story about a technical error - that the transaction dates back to 6 months ago.
First and foremost - I have not transferred amounts to another credit card in the last 6 months and secondly, even if I had, why am I being double charged???
How is it that a technical error of such nature has not been communicated to your customers? The consultant I was talking to advised that my account should not be affected by this transaction but I can clearly see that my balance shifted from R5 200 to R4 800.
