Opening a account

On the 11th of October I tried to open an account. I had an outstanding amount of more than 5 years ago that I needed to pay. The person that helped me said I needed to pay the amount - but they do not know what the next procedure was as to whether I will be able to open an accunt. They advised that I pay it - which I did - but after I paid I had to wait for the payment to get processed. I thought that they would give me a call after the payment was processed.
It is now the 13th of December and I have not got a reply.
the amount that I paid R 2 674.65 at teller 9 (256-205) reference :62068319964.
It would have been nice to get some kind of reply or correspondence back from them.
