I made a claim in May 2013 and it took a few months to get approved. I was 3 days short of my 90 Day cool off period and then they added R5000 onto my excess. Which was changed without my permission from 3% of accident value to 3% of vehicle value. It is obvious that your excess will be allot higher with this amendment. ANYWAY... My Quote was to Replace my bumper that was rear ended by a taxi and they changed that to a repair. again my excess stayed the same. I insisted that they have the 3rd party pay the excess into a trust account as i want assurance they will pay me back. The Taxi that hit me was speeding in the emergency lane and and due to sudden traffic standing still i had to avoid the traffic and got rear ended. now i am considered liable and they will not claim. This is the perfect end to a 7 month struggle.
