Discovery Insure does not pay out 3rd party claims, even when they can't get their facts straight
On the 15/10/2013 Althea Fourie sent this reply - We refer to the above matter and wish to advise that according to the details at our disposal, our insured was rear-ended by the driver of your vehicle, in which case our client was not the liable party and therefore we will not be entertaining your claim for damages.
On the 23/10 Riaan Basson replies - "without prejudice of rights and/or admission of liability"The subject matter is an intersection collision where our client was executing a right hand turn while your client was approaching from the main flow of traffic.
It is evident from the replies above that Discovery Insure were not sure of exactly what happened in this accident yet they refused to pay out. This poor descision resulted in us having to put through the claim with our own insurance which is a tick against our name and we took a R3000 loss on the excess
