First contacted Standard Bank re bridging finance on 18 January 2013 as well as a future loan. Was informed that I needed to submit updated financials. Submitted updated financials on 29 January 2013 along with a copy of a guarantee received from FNB regarding the sale of my 1 property. Contacted Mr Rantete on 29 January 2013 to explain dire need for bridging finance for a period of 2 months until the sale money was received as there was a possibility that I would exceed my overdraft limit at the end of the month - a situation that has never happened before. Was informed that he could not see me the same day as he had 2 appointments. I could not see him the following 2 days due to business commitments in Cape Town. Returned from Cape Town - contacted Std Bank. Mr R was not in - at an appointment - spoke to the Manager - Tumi - who called back to say that application would take 10 days (with a written guarantee from FNB) and that I would have to wait for Mr R to come in tomorrow (which could be too late to ensure that my credit rating is not affected). Any assistance forthcoming for a responsible client who has been with Std Bank for over 24 years - a resounding NO!!!
