Absa
Debit Card

Please can you help?

On 29 November 2012 my Absa card was snatched out of the ATM at Constantia Village. I immediately reported to the bank inside Constantia VillageAs they were busy I had to wait my turn. They checked the account and found that R2000.00 had been removed at the Meadowridge ATM. The card was cancelled immediately.

Subsequently Absa informed me by letter that they regretted any inconvenience and assured me tat the case was handled to the best of their ability. They reported that they cannot be held responsible for any financial loss that I have occurred as the disputed transaction was effected with my card and secret pin number. It would have been physically impossible for me to be drawing money at Meadowridge while I was still in the Absa Bank in Constantia Village.

Following this I went to the Centre Management Office and reported the matter there. The Security Officer, Divan Snyman, informed me that they are aware of a syndicate operating at the ATM's.

Further to this I reported the matter to the Ombudsman for Banking Services. To date their has been no news from anyone.

I am a pensioner, 75 years old, and cannot afford such a loss.

Can you possibly assis
