I insured my phone with miway and was asked whether I wanted to insure on retail or market value and I chose retail. My phone has since packed up and naturally I called my insurance for assistance, what seemed like an issue that required a simple software reload ended up as a complete disaster. My phone was collected by Smart lab who made a complete mess by first sending miway a damage report which was rejected and it would be left to me to settle the bill, when I thought that was the end of it I find out the report was infact wrong and that my phone was beyond repair and miway will now pay for it. I got a call that I would be settled an amount of R4 520 to buy a blackberry Z10, I mentioned that I insured my phone at retail value, then I got the " oh but we olnly pay you what the phone is worth at the time" not what you insured it for. Then I call around and find out that no one sells a Z10 for that amount, still in shock I call miway and I'm told "well we have a supplier who has the phone for that amount, please call them and find out" I called and no, the phone is R5 500. I called miway again and " oh they would have sold it to us at a discount price that's why" Appalling!
