Got hammered with a ridiculous premium increase recently and decided to move elsewhere for buildings/facilities insurance.
I was warned by the new insurer about exactly this type of situation and got everything sorted out and finalized well in advance to give the home loans department time to update my details/account and the debit order (which for some reasons includes the payment to outsurance).
I confirmed it over and over and everything was in order, yet still 3/4 weeks later when the amended debit order went off, it still included the outsurance premium, even though I sent a cancellation notification that the policy has in fact been terminated.
Phoned the home loans department, was informed that a refund would be done, still waiting.
Has asked for feedback multiple times since the 1st of October 2013 and have still not received any response.
I have not had any issues with FNB before, but this is absolutely pathetic.
