On the 11th November i went to ABSA to request them to close my accounts. While there i was given a closure amount and told to pay by the tellers, since i didn't have cash with me and they said i cannot swipe the amount i went back with closing the accounts. The following day i received a call from a lady by the name Charlotte and she asked me to deposit the money and they will close the account as soon as the amount appear on my ABSA account. I deposited the money and sent my proof of payment to her. To my suprise on the 15th i received smses telling me some debit orders where unpaid, i then received a call from a lady from ABSA requesting that i deposit the money into my account. I told her as far as i know my account was closed and i got suprised when i received the smses. I later deposited R2500 into my account and went to the bank on the 18th only to be told the account was still not closed. I enquired about the interest charged and Charlotte assured me that they will be reversed. When i went to close my savings account this Saturday i learnt that i was charged another closing fee of R250 on top of the one i paid on the 12th and my interest money was not returned to me.
