I do hope that this is going to help, because I see that a lot of people are complaining about African Bank.
I applied for a loan with them, and due to unforeseen circumstances I requested for my payback period to be rescheduled and send them all the necessary documentation explaining this. My request was granted in February 2013 but I WAS NOT INFORMED that I will now be listed at the credit bureau for affordability, go and check all my other accounts I pay the full instalment every month! Now I get sms's saying my account is in arrears and I must speak to one call centre agent after another and have all the proof that the debit orders is paid monthly. The NCR urges us to be honest when we are in trouble with our debtors and I did this and now I am listed, I find this unacceptable! The moral of the story is they are getting their money! They claim to walk the extra mile and is always willing to help hahaha what a joke. I will encourage no one to deal with them at all, but I guess the complaints against them speak for themselves don't they?
