This morning a FNB consultant by the name of Lynda called me informing about my personal loan. I informed that this loan has not been active/paid for the past 3 to 4 years. She informed that she will be deducting from my cheque account (which I verbally expressed my disapproval and informed that I do not give her this authority). Once I ended the call, I noticed that R1000 was deducted from my account.
I have spent two to three hours contacting FNB, whereby I was transferred from department to department, with no-one who wanted to assist.
I eventually spoke to this adamant consultant in collections department, who blatantly said that they can debit any amount that they deem necessary and there is nothing I can do about it.
I told her that I have not given any permission or authority for any type of debit from my Cheque Account.
