Have you ever heard anything so stupid. I have 2 accounts with absa, Savings and Cheque. So yesterday, 16/01/2013, I closed the savings account, meaning that now all my debit orders will need to be deducted from my cheque account. So today, I call all my provides to change my debit order details and without any hassle they we all changed telephonically. Then I finally get to my Absa Personal loan account. I call the number on the website for loans and ask if this can be done. I was referred to the accounts department, after holding on a while, the consultant confirmed with me that the accounts department can do it. Bearing in mind, this is 3 accounts, all with Absa, its not like its a different bank. I get transfered to the accounts department, and wait for it, I suffer because I am a good payer!! HAVE YOU EVER HEARD SOMETHING LIKE THAT!! I get told by 2 different consultants, that because I have such a good profile they are unable to assist me? Nice hey? so now, I can't change my debit order, (to an account that is also with absa). Which means that my debit order won't go off, I will be in arrears, THEN I WILL GET ASSISTANCE FROM THE CONTACT CENTRE."GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, THANKS!
