A couple of months ago I received a SMS from ABSA asking me if I would like my bank statements sent to me via post or email. I have received my bank statements via post since I opened my account with ABSA, which is easily 10 years ago. I followed the instructions of the SMS to NOT receive statements via email. The next month I never received bank statements via post and it came to my email. I notified ABSA's call centre about the problem and they assured me that my account has been adjusted. The next month I received it again via email, and this time I reported it again through the call centre. They assured me again that my account has been amended. Just to be safe, I sent an email with the same request to the address provided on the email statement. And now in the third month, I received my statements again via email. I want my statements to be posted as I keep it on record, and email statements are not convient for me. I have requested this via phone and in writing, and no one is fixing this problem. My friends are experiencing the same problems and can't get their accounts ammended also. What must one do to get your statements the same way you received it for 10 years?
