Horrible service and false impressions!

My husband had his vehicle financed through Wesbank and they were quick to sell the additional top-up insurance policy to him. He took out the policy and Wesbank assured him that whatever the shortfall is in the event of a write-off this policy will settle it. The vehicle was written off during a terrible accident only 10 months later. Our insurance settled to the amount of normal trade value and the shortfall would be covered by our top-up through Wesbank but underwritten by Regent. What a mistake! After three months of talking, shouting, pleading and crying with so many different people we got told that there was still R8000 outstanding due to the policy not covering the maintenance plan taken out on the vehicle that was included in the purchase price which in turn was the amount that was insured! They did not contact the provider of the maintenance plan to redeem the excess and only after huge arguments submitted the application but still informed us debit orders will be going off my husbands account until they have the money! No one did their job and we sit with all the costs, frustration. We are loyal clients of FNB but after this are looking for another bank.
