I opened a Student Silver account 4 years ago with ABSA, during which I had to supply them with proof of registration during my third year as well as Honors (which I am currently busy with). As I provided the proof of registration and other necessary documentation I realized that ABSA was deducting amounts higher than R200 from my account without my consent in 2013. I queried this deduction and within 3 days I got my money back. I thought the problem was resolved as I gave them ALL the necessary documents AGAIN to prove that I am still a student, to my disappointment approx R200 was deducted AGAIN from my account... It's been 11 days since I again notified ABSA of this and I have not been reimbursed with that amount as they telephonically said they would.
