I am a student and thus have a student account. On the 7th of November 2013 I was notified by an SMS that I have until the 28th of February 2014 to send a mail with a copy of my varsity registration form to a relevant mail address at Absa or my account fees will default to normal fees. On the 1st of January 2014 an amount of R65 transaction fee and R30 account fee was deducted from my account instead of the normal rate of R16.50 student fee. This is ridicules, I phoned general inquires, but obviously they cant help me I have to go to my branch, which will cost me more money to rectify Absa's mistakes.
