My wife's car was broken into today. Many items were to the value of R14000. When I realized that the boot was broken into, I immediately reported the matter to the Lyttelton police station. I then phoned auto and general and reported the matter. After taking down all the details, I was told that the claim was turned down because there was no forced entry. At the station I was told that robbers are jamming the locks and u would think that the car is locked when in fact it's not. When we took the policy years back, no one told us this and our policy document also doesn't state anything about forced entry. On page 14, it simply states an amount that is specified or not but which, if its locked in the boot is covered by the policy. Now what is this nonsense. What a bunch of.
