I deposited R20 000.00 into my credit card for Xmas, R3500.00 was used leaving me with approximately R16 500.00 to spend over the festive season. My limit was R30 000.00, I received an sms telling me that Absa has decreased my credit limit to R15 300.00, leaving me with approximately R1 100.00 to spend over Xmas.
Is this professional for a bank to this? I did hit a bad patch, but have slowly being getting my feet on the ground, I was looking at having a decent Xmas this year, but Absa goes and spoils this. I am aware that I owed them these monies, I have been making payments into the account. 2014 is going to be a much better year, with that in mind, I got a promotion with a very decent increase, I was going to pay off R3000 a month via Debit order into the credit card.
I really wish that someone at Absa could could find it in their heart to give me this break and I promise that as I mentioned above, it will happen.
