I submitted a claim for a crack in my pool on the 8th of October 2013 under my buildings cover. First off all i was advised that my excess would be R500 for the claim. after this Waybridge contractors called me and asked me to obtain quotes? Surely they where suppose to arrange this. Eventually Swimpool centre Pe submitted a report to Absa which states that its old damages that happened over a long period. Based on this ABSA rejected my claim. When i asked them if they received the report from the person who was appointed by Waybridge to conduct the assessment they never even had the report with them. Absa made a claims descision based on oly half the facts. This report stated that the damages was caused due to ground movement and i was advised that if this was the case that they would honour the claim. Repair cost came to just over R16000.00. With this i was then advised that my excess would be 1% of the insured amount of the property, which would be in the vicinity of R13 000.00!!! ABSOLUTELY MADNESS. I'm still waiting for my schedule to be mailed to me... this was requested 3 weeks back. Sad to say but the claim is still not finalised and i'm very unhappy.
