Recently I was a victim of . My Standard Bank Garage Card, which I have not had in my possession for over a year, and which I asked to be cancelled (over a year ago), was used. When I called Standard Bank to resolve this issue I asked the person I was speaking to to cancel the card (which should have been cancelled over a year ago). She then asked if I wanted another card and I said no, and that I do not want a garage card, and it was clear to her.
Today, someone from Standard Bank calls me to ask where I would like to pick up my new Garage card! I told her that I had specifically asked that this card be cancelled.
She told me she could not help me and that I now had to pick up the card and resolve it at the bank.
Clearly Standard Bank's motto is: Standard Bank, how can we NOT help you. Ever.
