Reported a burst geyser to the call centre and they informed me of an option to replace with a "solar" geyser. I thought great idea, reference number given and so on... Get a call from the plumbers - MAP Loodgieters from Vaal Triangle. ( We in Benoni). That they are coming today to install an electric geyser, I tell them - NO- I am going the "solar" route. They then tell me they can also do the system that I want, so I invite them to quote. They arrive and look at the roof and after a lot of "hum and ha" said they need my old geyser serial number before they can quote... WHY??? Nedbank says so. They have to submit the serial number to the bank in order to quote.

I don't think so, more like you put the serial number on the paperwork submit it quick and no one else can do anything. A very old and dodgy way of doing business, but, guarantee's the company the business.
