I went into the musgrave branch to close my account as I was not getting value for my money out of nedbank. When I get to the branch I'm not told where to go and when I take a seat to speak to a banker I'm told by the guard I cannot use my cellphone in the bank for security. When I asked for the manager, she simply confirmed his statement. I asked what should I do to pass the long que time and was told to look at brochures... For over half an hour! What prehistoric institution doesn't allow the use of a cellphone on their premises? It also seemed that only certain individuals were told not to use their cellphones which I thought amounted to discrimination. Then all sorts of confusion arose when it came to processing the closure of my account and I was forced to waste another hour and pay an amount in cash to 'withdraw' my money. Lets not even get started on the wasted paper for everything. I now need to come in on Monday to get a summary of because nobody could quantify it for me. So to summarise they lost a long standing client in me just by making things as unpleasant as can be.
