Nedbank account still open despite closing it

At the end of February 2013, I decided to close my Nedbank account after having a very unpleasant experience. I had my account hacked into and after doing what was required by me, I was contacted by Mr Brown of Nedbank and screamed at by him, being the customer and only received my money 3 months later after I went public on a social network and got many others involved, so of course I didn't want to bank with Nedbank if the CEO himself (Mr. Brown) was so hot headed with a customer.
The day I called Nedbank I was told to empty my account, which I did, I was assured within the next 24 hours my account was going to be closed, I called the next day for confirmation which I was given. Every month since then I received an e - statement, each time I emailed ask once, only not to be responded to. I would have gone into a branch but with my line of work I've been in and out of SA and have not time to do so. I refuse to pay for bank charges when my account was confirmed closed, it seems like no - one in Nedbank can do what they are asked. They have even sent me a notice of demand via sms. Can I have my account closed please! I want no dealing with Nedbank.
