We applied for a new home loan through Standard Bank and was initially very impressed. Unfortunately my happy state did not last very long.

Right in the beginning stages they messed up the guarantees that was sent to the attorneys.. We battled to get the paperwork sorted out with the messed up guarantee figures captured by Standard Bank. After a mission it got sorted out. Now my agony is starting all over again. Our bond is now registered and we were elated. Again, short lived, we are back to square one with the additional funds that was requested and approved. Although the selling price of the house was paid, we won't be have access to the additional funds until we have forked R200 000 out of our own pockets for renovations. I am devastated, this is not what was explained to us and surely not what was understood by me or my husband. If we had R200 000, available, we would not need the extra funds we applied for. Show me any company in Sa that is prepared to provide you with goods of such high amounts without getting paid for it upfront. Ref. 700243579 and 55742347 will be confirm my dealings with incompetent staff who place you on hold for ages without achieving much..
