I've been in contact with Nedbank's loans department as i requested a settlement amount as i will be leaving the country for good in the next 2 weeks and would actually like to settle Nedbank before i leave, rather than not pay them at all as i will not be coming back, which some people actually do. The amount i received from them in order to settle wasnt what i had in mind, however, my complaint is that i've tried to make a deal with them stating that i am willing to pay - 90% of this amount today, which i would then like them to regard the account as settled and paid up, they down right ignored my request which i feel is totally unprofessional and i've been banking with them for quite some time, i've never paid late nor have i missed any payments. My question is, why when people are handed over and deeply in arrears with these banks, do they get offered settlement amounts whereby they're willing to "write off" larger amounts, but when a good payer requests to SLIGHTLY negotiate as they would like to settle the loan after ONLY having it 4 months or less and not running away and not paying at all, do they ignore the request. I am here for 2 weeks and would like to resolve it asap
